Nativo pulls from over 5 generations of recipes from Gabriel’s heritage in the Highland Park neighborhood and Los Altos Jalisco. Each dish stems from our deep appreciation for the hands and minds who cooked before us. Specifically, Gabriel’s mother, Herminia Paredes, the mastermind behind our recipes. Our menu features familiar, elevated Mexican cuisine combining inspiration from the generational recipes with a new, imaginative and fun, modern flair.
CELEBRATING HOME GROWN CULTURE
Local Co-owner, Gabriel Paredes, grew up in the Burwood and Strickland neighborhood of Highland Park in a household of excellent cooks and hard workers. He learned first hand about entrepreneurship and work ethic as he helped his father sell boots to local businesses. However it was watching his mother cook with passion, dedication and refinement that led Gabriel to find his own passion in taste and flavor, and create his legacy by giving back to his hometown. At Nativo, through the ambience, service and menu, Gabriel shares what he experienced in his formative years: delectable food, eclectic cocktails, culinary traditions, and quality time with friends, family and the neighborhood.
